Using Microsoft Publisher
If you are not experienced with this program, we
have some critical tips. And we suggest you call us before you begin placing text or
scanning photos,
and have the program opened on your computer when you call 1 800 360-5284.
Are you aware that you can use Microsoft Word and
WordPerfect to create your book and place photos in it? And when you are finished and the
pages look exactly like you want them to look, you then "post-script" the file, which locks
in every positioning choice you have made regarding text and photos. We are happy to walk
you through the post-scripting process at no charge.
And before you scan your photos, it is
essential to read the "how-to" info so click on
About Photos to learn more.
How your photos look in your book can be good or
not so good, and it all begins with the scan of the photo. So learn how now rather than
being disappointed later.
When your book is completely designed and is ready
to be printed, the file must be post-scripted and we can walk you through that process
during a phone call.
If you plan to send us the printed pages for us to
scan (camera-ready pages), rather than sending us the computer file on a disk/CD, be aware
that after a scan the photos will lose a bit of resolution. If we have the computer file
from which to print the book, no resolution will be lost.
You can read more about preparing camera-ready
pages by clicking
Camera Ready Pages.
