Think of one story you would like to write. Need memory prompts?

    •WHO •WHAT •HOW •WHEN •WHERE •WHY

  • Name the people involved.

  • Describe what happened.

• Approximately what year did this happen.

• In what house, town, or state did it occur.

• What events led to the experience.

• What were you or others thinking or feeling.

• What happened next as a result of the experience.

• Who else was involved and how did it affect them.

• Tell why you think this makes a memorable story to preserve.

• You can work on a  computer, which allows you to easily add or delete, or use a pencil and paper. Add a date to the top of the page – the year the experience happened. If you decide to keep writing, you will be able to organize the various stories in the order they occurred.

   • Would you like to write another story

And Write About Your Family

• Read Writing Examples to see short excepts of what others have written, much the same way they would "tell" the story to another person. And this is how your posterity wants it to read.
