Finding families and organizations through an Internet Search allows
people all over the world to search with far more success than ever before.
Distant family members who may have lost touch with relatives can search for books about their family. We often receive e-mails from surprised people whether in the
U.S. or other countries who, in their search for family members, find
a book on our site. We then refer them to the family and a connection is made.
Search Engines are the highways of
how such searches are accomplished. The
biggest Search Engines like MSN GOOGLE &
YAHOO (see these examples) routinely pick up the information we provide
them via special pages on our site.
History Preserved believes in
providing the entire world access to the primary family names on the books we
publish and feature on this site. Why should a family do a book and not make it
known to those who may be searching. Or why should a town, organization, or
historical society publish a history and not make it known to a wide audience.
The preservation of history is a
rapidly growing topic of interest in the U.S.
and in the world. And that is why the Search Engines pick up
the information we provide.
Just double-click the one you want to see and
you'll be taken to that page. You can use this same double-click on any
underlined word or phrase on any of our pages and be taken to more information.
And
as you look at featured books, you
can double-click on a thumbnail photo (where it says to click for full image) and it will immediately
open a larger image of
that photo. This device allows us to place several photos on a page without it
taking too long to download the page. Large photos take up a
lot of space and take a while to appear, so they are hidden in a
file until someone double-clicks on them. Once you see the large photo, click
the "back" arrow at the top of your screen and you'll be taken back to
the page with the small photo and the story.
It is important to feature that all important part of American Society: The Family. And
the towns where they grew up. And what it was like then.
Go to
List of
Books to find
a particular book. Or
use our
"internal" Search Engine to find a person, place, or family name.
