These pages are an example of how to create your cover and spine. The Title page of your book and the cover are typically the same design. Or you can tell us the words and we will design it at no charge.

The size of the text on a spine depends on the thickness of the book, which is determined by the number of pages. If it is a thick book, larger size text can be placed on the spine.
If the title is long, there may not be room for a sub-title on the spine. Or perhaps only the author’s last name can be included. Your choice.
When your book is finished, choose a title and perhaps a sub-title. You can look at some of the featured books to see what others have used. Decide if you like Times New Roman in regular or italics, of if you want to pay for a die cut for a special font.
Decide if you want to add a border on the front cover. For examples of borders or art work, see Hard & Soft Covers for direction to particular Color Photo examples.
When we know the spine width, we will make any necessary adjustments on the size of the type you chose.
If you have chosen a soft cover, you can also submit a fully designed, four-color cover, according to soft cover specifications, including "bleeds" etc. See Hard & Soft Covers for details. And know that we are happy to take your ideas and photos and create a simple cover for you at no charge. We send you a PDF file (like an e-book) with the design and you can approve it or make suggestions. You can tell us what background color and text color you prefer (send us a color sample of the colors you like).
