MEDICAL HISTORY
This is an opportunity, if you choose, to provide your posterity with medical
histories that will prove useful to their future.
What illnesses did various members of the family have, especially parents
and grandparents?
What blood types?
What disabilities?
What genetic strengths & weaknesses?
Various illnesses in parents and grandparents can have an effect on down-line posterity.
Many genetic problems can be resolved if known about early. It could prove life
saving to provide your posterity with an accurate list of the following and
specify who had it:
Birth defects, premature or stillborn, pregnancy problems, RH Factor
problems, other blood problems, childhood diseases, hyperactivity, accidents,
acute illnesses such as pneumonia, dental problems, eye and ear problems,
glasses and hearing aides worn, chronic illnesses, life threatening illnesses.
Mention what medicines seem to work well and which do not. Include allergic
reactions to substances and drugs. Do not hesitate to mention a predisposition
to addiction. to caution family members.
Your posterity need to be forewarned of genetic predispositions. Doctors are now asking about the health and illnesses of one's
parents and grandparents because it gives them valuable information. Whoever is
still living can provide much of this information about themselves and their
parents.
